RE: Dual pane window question

"Having sit in a 5er with single pane windows at 10 degrees outside and heating said 5er and having the same 5er in 94 degree heat trying to cool it, THEN, purchasing a 5er with dual pane windows and sitting in the same heat and cold, I personally, from experience, as have others, tell you that THERE IS A DIFFERENCE in heating and cooling of the 5er. I have no reason to lie."
were there any improvements in the insulation in these units? Did the second one have dark full body paint and the first one white? were they both parked in the same orientation to the sun? were the lots shaded the same?
just curious

RE: Dual pane window question

I would suggest that you do some research on RV dual pane windows..These are NOT the same as dual pane windows in your stick house. Use your favorite search engine and be enlightened.Find out how efficient they are in terms of heat, cold, noise reduction. There is much to learn.
and all these claims of much quieter, warmer, etc. NONE of which were side by side studies of the two separate units. If I paid $2000 extra for the windows I would start justifying them in my mind myself.

RE: Having trouble justifying costs

going to your own private toilet - - priceless!!Dumping the contents of your private toilet periodically ... err priceless?
(Personally, doing the dump station thing sometimes makes me long for the days when I had a tent and used the CG facilities.) :)
that's why I invested in a sewer solution, then a macerator pump. makes a nasty job clean and easy.

RE: Can I add an outside shower to my TT?

Just remember the primary rule of modification work:
MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE.
Come to think of it, that applies to all phases of carpentry, metalwork, etc.
Oh so that's where I have been making my mistakes. I thought it was measure once, cut twice.

RE: Who shows title to CG operator?

There are also privacy laws. Anyone can ask for your social security number, but darned few people can require it.
Even my doctor, medical insurance carrier, and the hospitals I have been to do not know my social security number. Only banks, mortgage companies, the IRS and the State.
Many people, foolishly in my opinion, use their social security number as their medical insurance card number.
Obviously you are not on medicare yet. :p

I'm willing to bet that some Wally Warthogs are responsible for THIS!
yep, as I say, it's the rotten apples that will ruin it all for the decent folks. The Wally Warthogs are going to make these store owners to wonder if it is worth it all to let just anybody "camp" in their lot.

bumpy"
although a CG can set SOME rules, they can't play games with Title or V & T documents nor require to see them or copies----not anywhere. My vehicle and/or dog tags are good in all 50 states!
Regarding dogs---they MAY not allow them, but TAGS are PROOF that's required---period.
I think the OP has his document names confused.
they probably also could ask to see a valid marriage license before letting you stay if that was their written policy. Private property owners still have some rights, regardless of government intrusion. Like I say, there are very specific anti-discrimination laws that have to be obeyed. other than that it is sort of a cr@p shoot.

RE: Which Garmin ti buy?

but if I can't transfer my topo maps and lake maps
The memory card from my 60csx plugs into my Nuvi 255 and the maps work just fine. You can get a blank 1 gig micro sd card for around $6 if you shop around.
since my 276C has a proprietary card and anything I buy new will NOT, that won't work for me. but thanks for the idea.
Somehow when I upgraded software, I eliminated the line of text at the top of the screen that sez, "main street exit 2 miles" or some such. tried to find it in the instruction book and couldn't. will try to call Garmin monday.
OH, yeah, when I was going thru the menus etc., I saw and checked "enable WAAS". why wouldn't one want that selected?

RE: Dual pane window question

I wish we had them on ours. It's not often that you get something that pays for itself. If it saves on propane when heating then I'm for it. If it saves on electricity when cooling then I'm for it. Oooh they cut down the noise too? Labor to replace about the same as single pane and sooner or later I put the cost diference back in my pocket?? What's not to like?
Of course there are always the grumps that don't have them, so they must be bad. I'm sorry dudes, dual pane windows just don't have the problems they used to have and they are getting better all the time. Heck, I got surplus dual pane slide-ups on my deer blind (nope no fogging).
since all of my electricity for cooling comes from my basic site cost anyway, that doesn't factor in. If one did a lot of winter camping, it might make more sense to me.

RE: Nutrasweet and Splenda Free!

according to my box, Splenda is Dextrose, Maltodextrin, and Sucralose. Sucralose is manufactured by the selective chlorination of sucrose (table sugar), in which three of the hydroxyl groups are replaced with chlorine atoms to produce sucralose.
seems sort of innocuous to me.

RE: Backup camera question

I put a WalMart camera on my DW Toyota. I think it is the same as the Cosco unit. Other than bragging rights, I cannot think of anything positive about it. You sure have to hook a lot of wires, for a wireless camera.
I put a $400 camera on my TC. It works day or night. It is not wireless, but has less wires than the wireless unit, just have to run them further. It took way less time to install than the so called wireless unit. I cannot think of anything negative about it, except maybe cost. Guess this is one of those things you get what you pay for.
Wayne
good grief, what wires does yours take. my $69 dollar jobby uses a standard 2 wire plug into the cigarette lighter for the screen, which I am going to change to a two wire fused one, and the camera takes two wires, hot & ground.

RE: Who shows title to CG operator?

Say what? Never heard of this... He who asked for a title (in this case, it was a fifth wheel) might be advised to osculate a nearby posterior.
Sluggo
and he who sez that might just be told to find some other place to stay.

RE: Who shows title to CG operator?

Proper license and rabies TAGS for dogs, issued by home state, are all that is required---or "demandable" in the states.
In the 50 states, other than carrying the home-state issued vehicle "registration document" and proof of insurance, and having required tags/stickers displayed/carried as required, the carrying and/or "showing" of titles, MSOs, or other certificates is not required, NOR can they be required by anyone but a court---not even LEOs or CGs!

RE: Water Pressure Damage

We never stay hooked to a water faucet, we just fill our freshwater tank and then unhook the hose. If we use a hose and pressure regulator, we get slower water pressure and not even enough OOOMPH to keep the spray feature going on the Moen kitchen faucet. And the shower is restricted to a half spray trickle.
We get better water pressure by using our freshwater tank and our water pump.
After seeing my brother's camper flooded and water pouring out all the openings, never ever will I stay hooked to a faucet.
are you using a cheap $6.00 wal-mart pressure regulator, if so that is your problem. and that is why I shut my water off if I am gone for the day. the same thing could happen if you leave your water pump on.

RE: Which Garmin ti buy?

this AM I noticed that walmart has the 200W for $218, I suppose cheaper elsewhere. I was thinking of upgrading to another Garmin, but if I can't transfer my topo maps and lake maps, there is no reason I have to stay with Garmin.

RE: Nutrasweet and Splenda Free!

maybe the South Beach ricotta cremes? Essentially take low fat ricotta, add your packet of stevia, and whatever extracts you want. Blend or FP til it's creamy. Add a tbsp of dark choc chips if you want. I guess tht would be low carb- and the protein in the ricotta would give it a good glycemic index- ?? If you use vanilla, it tastes like cannoli filling. Choc almond is good, as is lemon.
and this is a substitute for nutrasweet and splenda?

well I visited my local walmart this am and sure enough there was a big 5er with triple slides out. it was at the far extremes of the lot however.
sorry, I didn't have my camera with me.
but it probably wasn't situated where I could get it and the walmart sign in it so I would be called a liar anyhow.

good work but now don't you have to be a little more careful not to bump your head on it?

BR,
ALL he did was modify the doors on an existing cabinet.:R
Look at the Before and After pics......
the way I read the post, which could be wrong, is that he also extended the cabinets out 3 inches ? to have a wider shelf.
